PRESENTATION
The Paris Center in Law & Economics (CRED- Centre de Recherche enEconomie et Droit) is a research team created on January 1, 2014. Within Paris Panthéon Assas University, CRED brings together a large majority of economists, and claims its specialization in interdisciplinarity between economics and law. Our research center also benefits from the support of scholars specialized in computer science and mathematics who have joined the project.
In total, 25 scholars and 20 to 30 PhD students work at CRED.
The goal of the research centers are:
- To conduct theoretical and applied economics research in the fields of “law and economics”, “Markets and technologies”, and “public policy”, with the aim of achieving academic excellence;
- To respond to requests for expertise, particularly from the public sector, insofar as the questions raised are of strong scientific interest;
- Contributing to the vitality of Paris Panthéon Assas University, in particular by directing training programs (including six apprenticeship masters programs and several university and executive-level diplomas);
- Development of international scientific collaboration networks and cross-disciplinary operations;
- Research training and thesis support for doctoral students, in partnership with the EGIC doctoral program (common to several fields: economics, management, information and communication).
To achieve these goals, the research center organizes a number of regular scientific events, as its research seminar and the “Fiscal policy” working group. An annual “Law, Economics and Regulation” conference has also been set up with HEC business school. Other more occasional events are also organized (conferences or workshops, thematic on-line seminars, etc.). CRED also benefits from several ANR contracts and two research chairs: the “Finance Digitale” chair in partnership with Telecom Paris, and the “Concurrence et Economienumérique” chair at Paris Panthéon Assas University. CRED also participates in the CNRS research federation “TEPP” (Théories et Evaluations des Politiques Publiques), and in several structuring initiatives within the Université Paris Panthéon Assas (including the “Assas Etudes Environnementales” unit and the University incubator).
